Partnering with, IoD London, our objective is to deliver the the full IoD’s  « Certicate Company Direction » with modules offering a balance between concepts, recommendations and sharing experiences. By attending this course delegates will gain the knwoledge and skills to:

 

  • Role of the Director and the Board :
    • Gain an in-depth view of the key duties, roles and legal responsabilities of the modern director.
    • understand the essential differences between direction, management and ownership.
    • Examine the board’s role in corporate governance and learn how to improve board effectiveness.
    • Understand the legal status of a company and other organizations and implications of the code of corporate governance.

 

  • Strategy for Directors :
    • Describe the ingredients of effective strategic thinking and explain their link with the strategy process.
    • Carry out an analysis of a market or industry to reveal areas of possible strategic opportunity of threat.
    • Evaluate an organization’s capabilities to reveal relative strenghts and capabilities.
    • Use strategic concepts and models to generate, evaluate and assess strategic options.

 

  •  Finance for Directors:
    • Evaluate the director’s role and responsibilities in relation to finance, and the relationship between financial and corporate stratégies.
    • Understand common financial statements and, how they relate to each other and are affacted by business decisions. 
    • Explain how to use financial ratios, and interpret accounts in order to assess the financial health of an organisation.
    • Outline ways of ensuring that management reporting is effective in enabling the organisation’s strategy to be achieved. 
    • Understand the key factors to consider in relation to funding requirements and possible funding options.

 

  • Leadership for Directors:
    • Develop an understanding of how leadership can be defined and understood in relation to the director’s role on the board.
    • Apply techniques for developing a greater awareness of one-self and the motivations and behaviours of others.
    • Create a culture which constructively engages others in the organisation to achieve the strategic objectives, and to respond effectively to crisis and change.
    • Indentify how leaders create influence and impact within and beyond the organisation and asses relevant stakeholder engagement strategies.
